And…we’re back.
Not back in the saddle – we never left (and we never do!). But back from the East Coast – where we just completed an invigorating, hilarious, exhausting 8-day tour of some of the most beautiful and smarty-pants campuses around.
A huge shout-out to all 500+ of you who met up with us in person on the tour. For the next 7 days, we are rolling out a play-by-play (with photos) of what we got up to - 1 post per day.
But before we get started, we have a few announcements to make.
First, we had an absolutely ridiculous time at our day-long Consulting Bootcamp at the Marriott Marquis in New York on Sunday. We can’t wait to keep growing the program - based on the rave reviews (and our personal enjoyment), it's worth it. For those of you that missed it, we are holding another 8-hour Consulting Bootcamp in San Francisco on September 21. If you don’t live in the Bay Area, don’t whine – our attendees in NY flew in from Atlanta, Ohio, and London and took the train at 6AM from other spots to meet us. So buy a Bootcamp ticket, and come join us for a day that will set you up for years of success.
Second, we’re planning a UK tour from October 21-27 – and although we have some initial emails out to target groups, we’re waiting to book plane tickets until we have events scheduled at a minimum of 4 campuses. Our guidelines: 60 attendees minimum, you book the room, and we have an absolute blast for 2 hours together walking through our FREE Bootcamp Lite overview of Resumes/Cover Letters, Networking, Fit Interviews and Case Interviews. So…come on, British folk! Get your on-campus group together and invite us to spend an evening together.
Finally, invite us to come present a private 8-hour Consulting Bootcamp (focused on fit and case interviews) - we would be honored to meet with you. We require a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 30 attendees. Just contact us for more information, and we’ll get you on the calendar. We travel anywhere in the world, as long as you ask nicely and especially if you are located near a tropical beach. So, without much further ado, we are excited to give you the play-by-play of our whirlwind week on the East Coast. ******** Monday marked our first evening stop – Atlanta, and more specifically, Georgia Tech.
What an impressive group of students, with incredible business experience! We had a lecture hall that sat 85 and every seat (except the few taken up by the pizza) was full.
One of our mock interview coaches, Michael Hecht, is based in Atlanta – so he made a cameo at the event, offering tremendous and specific insight into the Deloitte, McKinsey and Seabury processes.
Speaking of so much interest, we had a TON of questions – and not just questions, but good questions – so we stayed for over an hour after the presentation was finished.
Based on the overwhelming response, we’ve been invited to come back and spend at least 1 full day on the Georgia Tech campus in the spring.
We are excited to meet with students in smaller groups and can’t wait to put some of them on the Hot Seat in our day-long Consulting Bootcamp.
Favorite quote of the night – “I thought I knew a lot about the process, but I learned something new every minute.”
That night, we had one of our best dinners of the whole trip at Fresh to Order in Midtown Atlanta, and hit the road for a few hundred miles of driving before crashing halfway to Durham. Stay tuned for tomorrow's edition of the Tour Recap…
